Share it!

At Yosemite Meat Company, we’re always interested in learning how our customers are using our products. In fact, one of the reasons we redesigned our website was so our customers could interact with us more easily. (How do you like the new look? Is there any information you’d like to see on the site? Use the “comment” function below to let us know!)

So to start things rolling, let’s talk recipes. How do you prepare the great Yosemite Meat Company pork or beef or other specialty meats you buy? What’s your favorite recipe?

We’ll kick things off by sharing one of ours. This Picadillo recipe comes from Reyna, from Accounting here at Yosemite Meat. Reyna cooks this for her family on a regular basis because it is simple, flavorful and inexpensive with only a few ingredients. In addition it can be served in many different ways.

Pork Picadillo

Ingredients

1 Boneless Pork Butt (3-5lbs)
1 package of powdered chili California
3 cubed potatoes
Salt to your liking

Cook Pork in a slow cooker on low for 6 to 8 hours or until the pork shreds easily. Shred the pork and place in a skillet with 2 cups of the meat broth from the slow cooker. Add the package of chili California and potatoes then simmer on medium heat for 30 minutes (or until potatoes are soft). Salt to taste.

This dish can be served in a variety of ways. You can make with Sopes, Tostadas or fill up your favorite kind of tortillas. Try adding some of the following ingredients with your finished Picadillo.

Refried Beans
Chopped Lettuce
Salsa of your choice
Cheese of your choice

Enjoy!
